The most difficult aspect for this 7 number Luxury Apartment building in Toorak was piling (with “Secant Piles”) as near as 300mm from the main storm water drain (900mm diameter).
The secant piling was used to ensure no soil collapsed away from the drain since the excavated basement was 1.5 metres below it.
Open Plan makes for difficult framing to keep the building stable! This structure was no exception.
The client for this project was the Joenz Property Group, who do many interesting and high level luxury apartment buildings in Melbourne.
