Grandview Grove

Client : I Hoffstead & T Threlfell

Location : 16 Grandview Grove. Prahran. Melbourne.

This project is a solid masonry building. The client wants to undermine it and install a double garage, cellar TV / Theatre room and lift. It required underpinning the bluestone walls in many places.

We also used bored piles at the rear and to cover it excavation that resulted with a concrete floor. But the best part was excavating under the tessellated verandah floor at the front for the garage. The tiles were loose in places on a mortar bed over a thin concrete slab supported on filling. We devised a way to do this keeping the tiles in place. The original building did not crack. With the use of special water sealing products, the basement doesn’t leak.
